Ayim Hails Renewed Unity in Cross River, Commends Senator Jarigbe for Uniting Stakeholders

Former Chairman of Ogoja Local Government and former Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon. Rita Ayim, has expressed delight over the growing unity among political stakeholders in Cross River State.

Speaking on the sidelines of the fifty fifth birthday celebration of Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, Ayim praised the federal lawmaker for fostering an atmosphere of harmony and collective engagement across party lines.

Ayim, who attended the celebration in Abuja, described the occasion as “a night to remember,” noting that the impressive turnout of prominent political figures signalled a renewed spirit of togetherness in the state.

According to her, the event became a rallying point for national and state leaders, including Governor Bassey Edet Otu, the Deputy Senate President, the APC National Chairman, the Chief of Staff to the President and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila. Also present were former governors Liyel Imoke and Donald Duke, former Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo, SAN Kanu Agabi, several serving Senators and members of the House of Representatives.

Ayim further highlighted the attendance of notable Cross River personalities such as former Senators Sandy Ojang Onor and Victor Ndoma Egba, High Chief Higgins, and the Chief of Staff to the Cross River State Governor, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, state lawmakers as well as local government chairmen and councillors.

She said the ambience and camaraderie at the celebration reflected a political climate where leaders increasingly demonstrate commitment to unity and mutual respect. She added that Senator Jarigbe’s ability to convene people of diverse political backgrounds speaks to his influence, maturity and bridge building leadership style.

“What I witnessed that night was more than a birthday celebration; it was a demonstration of the unity we have long desired in Cross River State,” Ayim said. “Senator Jarigbe deserves commendation for creating an atmosphere where stakeholders can connect, celebrate and reaffirm their shared commitment to the progress of our state.”

Ayim expressed optimism that the prevailing harmony among leaders will translate into improved governance, stronger collaboration and greater development for the people of Cross River State.
