Asset Recovery Adviser Applauds Mbu-Ogar’s Leadership Impact as Former Lawmaker Celebrates Birthday

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Asset Management and Recovery, Barr. Gilbert Agbor, has celebrated his longtime friend and ally, Hon. Chris Njah Mbu-Ogar, describing him as a dependable brother, visionary leader, and exemplary public servant.
In a heartfelt birthday tribute on Friday, Agbor traced their friendship back to their university days, where both men served as student union leaders committed to protecting the interests of their colleagues. He recalled the early years of activism and shared struggles that forged their enduring bond.
Barr. Agbor also spoke fondly of the honour of serving as best man at Mbu-Ogar’s wedding, describing the moment as a symbolic reminder of their friendship, mutual respect, and shared hopes for the future.
Beyond personal ties, Barr. Agbor highlighted Hon. Mbu-Ogar’s outstanding service in public office, particularly his performance in the 9th Cross River State House of Assembly between 2019 and 2023, where he described him as “one of the Assembly’s standout legislators.” According to Agbor, Mbu-Ogar’s contributions to debates, responsiveness to constituents, and commitment to good governance distinguished him as a lawmaker of exceptional quality.
He further commended Mbu-Ogar’s “clear-sighted vision and competence” in his current role as Special Adviser to the Governor on National Assembly Matters, noting that he has continued to demonstrate maturity, tact, and a deep understanding of legislative processes.
The Asset Management and Recovery Adviser praised his friend’s unwavering loyalty, recalling several instances where Mbu-Ogar stepped in to support and strengthen him politically and personally.
