Archibong Bassey Re-Elected as Cross River NUJ Chairman

Comrade Archibong Bassey of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Calabar, has been re-elected as Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Cross River State Council.
Bassey, who made history as the first female Chairman of the council during her first term, was re-elected unopposed alongside five other executive council members to serve another three-year term.
The elections, held on Thursday during the 2025 Cross River State NUJ Triennial Delegates Conference, produced the following executive members: Comr. Archibong Bassey (NTA Calabar) as Chairman; Comr. Sunday Inah (CRBC) as Vice Chairman; Comr. Michael Abang (Business Day) as Secretary; Comr. Kingsley Agim (Ministry of Information) as Assistant Secretary; Comr. Achiane Adams (Ministry of Information) as Treasurer; and Benedine Tete Anam (FRCN) as Auditor.
Speaking shortly after taking the oath of office, Comr. Archibong Bassey expressed gratitude to council members for their trust and called for unity among journalists in the state.
She pledged to build on the achievements of her first term, acknowledging areas where improvements are needed.
Bassey urged members to support her leadership and contribute ideas that will help move the council forward.
