Achraf Hakimi referred to criminal court over 2023 rape allegation

French prosecutors have referred Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi to the criminal court to face trial for a rape charge stemming from February 25, 2023.

The complainant says she met Hakimi at his home after connecting on social media.

Hakimi denies wrongdoing. On X he wrote that “today, a rape accusation is enough to justify a trial, even though I contest it and everything proves it is false,” adding that he awaits the hearing “calmly” to clear his name.
