3rd Anniversary: Orok Duke Hails Governor Otu, Says Cross River on Progressive Path
The Cross River State Representative on the NDDC Governing Board, Rt. Hon. Orok Duke, Ph.D., has congratulated Governor Bassey Edet Otu on his 3rd anniversary in office, describing it as a celebration of purposeful leadership and visible impact.
In a goodwill message, Duke commended Otu’s “People First” agenda, saying it has redefined governance and sped up development across key sectors of the state’s economy.
According to him, the administration has recorded major gains in infrastructure renewal, economic revitalization, agriculture, investment promotion, tourism, environmental sustainability, and human capital development. These, he said, have put Cross River on a path of sustainable growth.
Duke particularly praised Otu’s interventions in agriculture, including the flag-off of the 2026 wet season farming program and distribution of yam seeds, soybeans, and fertilizers to farmers statewide. He noted the initiatives have boosted food security, productivity, and rural livelihoods.
The former Deputy Speaker also said Cross River has regained its status as a preferred investment destination, thanks to improved infrastructure, institutional reforms, and strategic partnerships creating jobs and expanding opportunities.
“Three years ago, Governor Otu came with a clear vision to put people at the center of governance. Today, the results are clear in the transformational projects, policy reforms, and development initiatives impacting Cross Riverians,” Duke stated.
He also applauded the Governor’s efforts in promoting peace, unity, and political stability, calling them critical for development.
Duke expressed confidence that Otu will build on the gains and deliver more achievements. He wished the Governor wisdom, strength, and divine guidance, while reaffirming support for the shared vision of a stronger, more prosperous, globally competitive Cross River.
“On behalf of my family, associates, and supporters, I congratulate His Excellency, Sen. Apostle Dr. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, on this milestone. Cross River’s transformation story is being written through deliberate action and commitment to the people,” he added.
