UNICROSS Student Rejects Mechanic Boyfriend's Proposal, says "I Cannot Marry A Mechanic"
What was meant to be a joyful public proposal on campus took a dramatic and unsettling turn at the Entrepreneurship Training (ENT) Centre of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) during the ongoing entrepreneurship practical session.
The incident involved a graduate of the University of Cross River State, identified by her business name as @Angel Grey from the Department of Guidance and Counselling.
She had returned to campus to participate in the practical exercise when her boyfriend unexpectedly approached her with a proposal ring in a public setting.
Eyewitnesses described the moment as initially surprising but quickly tense when the lady openly rejected the proposal.
According to reports, she was heard saying, “I cannot marry a mechanic.” In response, the visibly embarrassed man reportedly replied, “But you were comfortable eating a mechanic’s money.”
The exchange immediately drew the attention of students and participants at the centre. Within minutes, a large crowd gathered around the scene, chanting “Say yes! Say yes!” in an attempt to pressure her into accepting the proposal.
However, the situation escalated further as the lady reportedly reacted aggressively, throwing punches at the man and creating a scene that many described as shocking.
Security eventually intervened to prevent the situation from worsening.
