UGEP, C'RIVER - Scores Left With Bullet Wounds as Cult Group Battle For Supremacy

A fierce internal conflict has erupted within the Vikings Confraternity in Ugep Urban, resulting in a violent gun battle on September 25, 2025 around 7pm. 

The clash according to sources stems from a deep-seated struggle for leadership and political allegiance, with two rival factions emerging within the group.

Sources revealed to THE BEAGLE NEWS that the two factions are locked in an internecine war over who should assume leadership of the confraternity and which political camp deserves the loyalty of the confraternity.

An eyewitness who spoke with our reporter hinted that the rival groups clashed along the Ugep council guest house where they exchanged bullets injuring innocent passers by.

A lady and her little daughter who were victims of the gun duel said on her way home with her daughter that fateful evening, she was caught up in the cross-fire which left her with bullet wounds on her arm, breast and thigh while 7 year old daughter had a bullet in her thigh.

Earlier in August, Ugep community also witnessed similar attacks allegedly staged by the same group where a life was lost.

A former aide to former president Muhammadu Buhari and a community leader Chief Okoi Obono Obla in one of his official social media handle condemned in entirety stating that the conflict poses a serious threat to public safety and stability in the community.

He called on relevant authorities to take swift and firm action to prevent further bloodshed and restore order before the situation spirals out of control.
