SSASGLC Unanimously Endorse Tinubu, South-South APC Gov's Second Term Ambition

The South-South All Progressives Congress (APC) Support Group Leadership Caucus (SSASGLC) in Nigeria, have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and South-South Governors interested to run for a second term in office.

 The Group's leadership from Edo, Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, Akwa Ibom and Cross River who stormed Calabar, the Cross River state capital for the official inauguration and endorsement rally for President Tinubu and the six Governors in the South-South region in their numbers acknowledged the economic transformation, infrastructural development and empowerment witnessed in the region since the emergence of the Tinubu's led administration. They vowed to intensify efforts for the re-election of the ruling Party to sustain the chains of democracy in the country.

 Welcoming the Group's leadership to Calabar the host governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu represented by his Special Assistant on Special Duties, Bar. Ekpenyong Akiba chronicled the transformational strides of Gov. Otu ranging from social amenities like the state Library Complex, electricity, Health, recovery of Cross River's Tinapa Resort as well as road rehabilitation vis-a-vis Calabar -Itu road, Ikom - Ogoja road, Lagos - Calabar road whose construction was originally planned to start from Lagos but commenced in Calabar due to President Tinubu's love for the state and many others which has earned Governor Otu various categories of awards.

 "Cross River is completely APC. This is the first time the state and South-South region as a whole is receiving massive federal government attention in all sense of the word. Therefore we vow to ensure President Tinubu and all the south south Governors returned to office at the expiration of their tenure." Otu emphasized.

 The State Chairman APC, Right Hon. Christopher Sunny Eta charged the Party's Support Groups to reflect and correct the errors of the 2023 general elections to enable the Party to come out stronger and bigger with great results in 2027 general elections. He emphasized the Party's desire for bumper harvest of votes in next year's election as the only way to leverage with the Federal Capital Territory FTC, Abuja.

"As a party, APC really believes in Support Groups as a stronghold of the Party because they are closer to the grassroots. I urge you to continue to meet, share ideas and be strategic for the party to emerge stronger and bigger," Eta admonished.

Speaking, the Wife of the Cross River state Governor, Bishop Eyoawan Bassey Otu who spoke through her SSA.Administration, Dr. Mrs Comfort Oko, advised eligible Voters in the region to get their voter's card ready and mobilize the people to vote APC back to power next year.

 In a keynote address on the 'Role of Support Groups Structures in visionary governance and Progressives politics' Professor Bassey Ekpenyong, described Support Groups as grassroots mobilizers and voters turn-around activators who are usually neglected in a political system. He states , "So when we celebrate election victory, we should celebrate Support Groups twice because they worked before elections, during elections and did more work after elections."

  In an acceptance Speech, after the inauguration of the SSASGLC, National Chairman and Leader, Elder, Comrade Iso Bassey Edim, expressed their readiness to work assiduously for the gains of the Party adding that the Group stands as the apex Coordinating body of all Support Groups in the South-South geo-political zone in Nigeria with structures across the States, Senatorial districts, local governments and at the Ward levels.

 He noted that the President meant well when he increased federal statutory allocations to state Governors to change the lives of the rural populace as witnessed through empowerments and infrastructural development in the region and appealed to everyone to encourage the Group's onerous task of the re-election of President Tinubu and all the Governors in Southern Nigeria to consolidate on the good foundation laid for the people.

 "The Group's endorsement for a second term of President Tinubu and the Southern Governors is not out of sychophancy but to support those who have done well while in office for continuity. We as a pressure group have vowed to intensify our strategies in private, public places even the social media towards a successful outing come 2027," Edim assured.
