Sen. Jarigbe Agom-Jarigbe, representing the Northern Senatorial District of Cross River, has broken the jinx by being the first Legislator to inaugurate rural road project in Obanliku community.
Recall that the former Governor Ben Ayade, who ruled Cross River state for eight years and hails from Obudu/Bekwarra/ Obanliku federal constituency in northern senatorial district, did not execute any rural road in Obanliku.
However, the first phase of the 2km Busangfong-Ikom-Obudu road in Bisu, Obanliku local government area of the state was inaugurated on Saturday, August 30, 2025 by the incumbent Senator
The road has been left to deteriorate for years, making it impossible for the people to commute and also evacuate farm produce that is their means of livelihood.
Inaugurating the first phase, which covers 1km including side drains on Sunday, Jarigbe restated his commitment to continue to uplift the standard of living of his constituents through the attraction of basic amenities.
He promised to complete the remaining kilometers of the road project.
He, however, solicited for more support from the people as he continued to embark on infrastructural transformation transformation of the senatorial district.
"God has used us to continually contribute to the overall well-being of my people, and we thank God for making it possible to be here today to inaugurate this project for the betterment of the people.
"I know there are lots to be done, and I will continue to strive to ensure that i deliver.
"My only appeal from you is your continual support and prayers as we work together for the betterment of our senatorial district," he stated.
The Clan Head of Bisu Nation, Chief Gabriel Adaba, commended the Senator on behalf of the traditional rulers council and members of the benefiting communities.
While pledging the communities' continual support to Agom-Jarigbe, Adaba said the road project will no doubt increase the income through enhancement in their means of livelihood.
Sen. Jarigbe has litany of projects across the five local government areas that make up the senatorial district as well as other empowerment programmes for his constituents.
