PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: DECLARATION OF WEDNESDAY, 23RD SEPTEMBER 2026 AS WORK-FREE DAY A' IBOM STATE

This is to notify members of the public that His Excellency, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, Ph.D., has approved Wednesday, 23rd September 2026, as a Work-Free Day in the State to enable citizens and residents to participate fully in activities marking the 39th Anniversary of the Creation of Akwa Ibom State.

The declaration is in recognition of the significance of the anniversary and provides an opportunity for the people of the State to celebrate the 39-year journey with gratitude to God for His faithfulness, protection and blessings over the years.

Accordingly, all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the State Government, as well as the general public, are requested to take note and be guided accordingly.
