AHEAD of September 27, 2025, the Cross River State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has constituted a 20.man committee headed by the former Vice Chancellor of University of Calabar, Prof. Zana Akpagu.

In a statement signed by the State Chairman, Venatius A. Ikem, the committee is tasked with planning and coordinating every aspect of the congress to guarantee a credible, transparent, and harmonious outcome.

The team, chaired by Professor Zana Akpagu with Chief (Barr.) Helen Bocco as Secretary, brings together a blend of academic excellence, legal expertise, and political experience. Other prominent members include Professor Walter Mboto, Professor Tom Ogar, Rt. Hon. Fred Osim, Barr. Mike Aniah, Barr. Francis Anom, Barr. Victor Edim, and Barr. Paul Ebiala.

Also on the list are Dr. Ivon Ettah, Hon. Ina Ibor, Hon. Ayuk Ntui, among other respected party stalwarts drawn from the state’s 18 Local Government Areas.

Ikem emphasized that the composition of the committee reflects the PDP’s commitment to inclusivity and credibility, describing it as a “reputable team” expected to usher in a new lease of life for the party in Cross River and reposition it for future responsibilities.

The forthcoming congress is expected to draw wide participation as stakeholders look forward to a pivotal event that will shape the party’s leadership and strategic direction in the state.
