"PDP should Go and Register Officially As APC Support Group" ~ C'River Deputy Gov
By Missang AKPET
The Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has become a support group for the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Odey made the declaration on Saturday while taunting the PDP during the defection ceremony of the former State Chairman of the PDP, Barr. Vena Ikem, to the APC in Obudu.
According to the Deputy Governor, the PDP no longer has a clear identity or candidate, as its national leader is openly campaigning for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the APC.
"We don't even know if PDP has any candidate. As a matter of fact, we in APC say PDP is a support group of APC because the same PDP is campaigning for APC."
"Who is their national leader Nyesom Wike campaigning for? Is it not Tinubu? Even in his own state Rivers State, the governorship candidate he, Wike, brought is from which party? Is it not APC?"
Odey argued that the development in Rivers State shows that the PDP is not even present in the state of its national leader.
He declared that Cross Riverians have only one party to protect and that party is APC, while advising the PDP to approach the directorate of APC support groups to register officially.
The defection ceremony, which attracted top APC stakeholders in the state, was described as another major boost for the ruling party in Cross River ahead of the 2027 general elections.
