Ogoja Vice Chairman Accuses Chief of Staff Emmanuel Ironbar of Impeachment Plot

The Vice Chairman of Ogoja Local Government Area, Hon. Emmanuel Idi Yakubu, has accused the Chief of Staff to the Cross River State Governor, Mr. Emmanuel Ironbar, of orchestrating an impeachment plot against him.
In a statement, Hon. Idi Yakubu alleged that the Chief of Staff instructed the Leader of Ogoja Council, Elizabeth Nkagafel Mbim, to mobilize councillors to commence impeachment proceedings against him.
The Vice Chairman believes this move is in response to his expression of solidarity with the ousted State Chairman of APC, Barr. Alphonsus Ogar Eba, in a post he made yesterday.
"I am not surprised by this move, but it is indeed a comic relief to watch such events unfold," Hon. Idi Yakubu said.
"I will not apologize for my position or stand. I stand strongly with Barr. Alphonsus Eba, and I will continue to support him."
"I ask you all to remain peaceful and calm. Let us wait for the Leader of Council to begin the process, and we will respond accordingly."
The impeachment move has sparked controversy in Ogoja, with many questioning the motives behind it while indigenes of OGOJA have continued to show solidarity with the vice chairman.
