Investigations by THE BEAGLE NEWS further revealed that following public outcry over the plight of the UNICROSS staff and following appeal by some critical stakeholders to government, Governor Bassey Otu directed release of the their November subvention, leading to one month salary payment.
However, it was learnt that the Vice Chancellor of UNICROSS, Professor Augustine Angba, was said to have entered into an agreement with the unions to clear the May and June backlog salaries by this year ending.
Some of the staff, who spoke off record, said they are surprised that the VC has again reneged on his promise, adding that once they get the December salary they may be forced to declare industrial dispute untill all their entitlements are cleared.
