Yakurr Monarch Donates Office Accommodation to FRSC For Area Command Establishment

Following a request by the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, to establish an Area Command in Ugep to foster wider coverage of the Corps in terms of visibility and combating the scourge of road traffic Crashes within the Area.
The Sector Commander in continuation of his tour of duty to major stakeholders of the Command, on Wednesday 13th of September paid a thank you visit to the Obol Lopon of Ugep and Paramount Ruler of Yakurr to express the Corps appreciation to the monarch for the provision of an office accomodation for the establishment of Area Command in Ugep.
The Sector Commander who was received by the the paramount ruler and the Ugep traditional rulers council of Chiefs, noted in his address that the donation of the former post office building to the FRSC for the smooth take off of the proposed Area Command is a testament to the fact that the Ugep people are truly hospitable.
Corps Commander Istifanus Andesaba Ibrahim also solicited for effective collaboration between the Ugep traditional rulers council and the FRSC in ensuring a seamless operation of the Area Command and as well requested the cooperation of the community not to hesitate to call on FRSC to report any case of road traffic crash to ensure prompt rescue operations.
In his response, Obol Ofem Ubana, paramount ruler of Yakurr and Obol Lopon of Ugep revealed that the Ugep community and the entire Yakurr local government is ready to partner with the Corps in seeing to the fact that the new Area Command is adequately supported in order to function effectively.
He as well informed that, the palace is also happy for the choice of Ugep community as the headquarters of the Area Command, he stated that this gesture will assist the community greatly in the area of curbing road crashes prevalent in the area and also enhancing effective public education to motorists around the Area Command coverage.
The monarch also appealed that the FRSC should not delay in occupying the office space so as to facilitate the smooth take off of the proposed Area Command in Ugep.
In attendance during the visit where the entire traditional rulers Council of Chiefs and the FRSC special marshals of Itigidi Unit Command to welcome the Sector Commander.
