Senator Jarigbe Felicitates With Nigerian Children on Children's Day

As we mark Children's Day, I join millions of parents, guardians, and caregivers across Cross River North Senatorial District and beyond to celebrate our children, who are our presents from God and the embodiment of our future.

The theme for this year's Children's Day Celebration, "Tapping The Untapped Natural Treasure," is a profound one because it is time to start laying a solid foundation for our children's tomorrow.

In Nigeria, 18.3 million children are out of school. That is more than the populations of Norway, Singapore, and Cuba combined.

That is not ideal. To manage this situation, I have facilitated the renovation and erection of schools around Cross River North Senatorial District. I have also given out scholarships and supplied textbooks to students in Ogoja, Yala, Bekwarra, Obanliku, and Obudu LGAs.

Even though Nigeria continues to struggle with child malnutrition, as 5.4 million children aged 0–59 months suffer from acute malnutrition in Nigeria, I have put policies in place to ensure that my constituents can afford to feed their families.

Dear Nigerian Child, you are the innovators and leaders of tomorrow. You are our natural treasure. I promise to remain resolute in my commitment to providing you with the resources and support you need to tap your untapped potential.

Happy Children's Day.

Distinguished Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe,
Cross River North Senatorial District.
