SEN. AGBOTI COMMENDS NDI-IGBO FOR SHUNNING NATIONWIDE HUNGER PROTEST From OMAKA OKOH (Abakaliki)

As the planned nation wide protests on End Bad Government continue to escalate to other states in Nigeria, a political stalwart, community leader & philanthropist, Distinguished Senator Omezue Sen Emanuel Azu Agboti, has commended Ndi-Igbo for not participating in the #Endbadgovernmet nation-wide protest, describing it as uncalled for at this auspicious time of nation building.

Speaking to newsmen at the weekend, Agboti, the former Senator who represented Ebonyi South senatorial district, decried the loss of lives, unwarranted wanton destructions of public facilities and looting of supermarkets and shops belonging to especially Igbo residing in some parts of the country, contrary to the promise by organisers that it will be peaceful.

According to him, the destructions of properties of innocent people sets the country's economy backward just as consoled with the families and relations of those who have lost their lives in the procces.

Commending the Igbo for shunning and banning the protests in the South East region, he advised the Igbo youth to continue to remain committed and law abiding citizens especially in the amid development in the country.

According to Agboti, Nigeria belongs to every body further advising Igbo residing in Lagos state or any parts of the country not to leave their business because of threat facilitated by the organisers of the protests.

"I call on the organisers and sponsors of call off the protests and return to a round table for negotiation with the relevant government authorities rather than setting the country backward through wanton violent destructions of properties belonging to innocent nigerians.

"I also appeal to political leaders in various national, state and local levels to do the needful by bringing the protesting youths for dialogue and possible solutions to curtail further escalation of the violent destructive protests."
