Rivers State: Rights Group Calls On EFCC, DSS To Investigate Suspended Gov. Fubara

The Civil Liberties and Constitutional Awareness Group (CCLCA) has called for immediate investigations into the activities of suspended Governor Fubara of Rivers State.
The organization insists that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigerian Police should begin a thorough investigation into allegations surrounding the former governor's actions.
CCLCA emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating that the continued silence surrounding these allegations could further damage the integrity of the state’s governance. They pointed out that there have been serious claims of financial misconduct and corruption linked to Fubara’s administration. The group urged the relevant authorities to act swiftly to uphold the law and ensure transparency.
In their statement, CCLCA also expressed concern about the governance situation in Rivers State. They noted that the political climate has become increasingly unstable, with calls for accountability and fairness in the administration. The group believes that the investigation will help restore trust in the state’s leadership and bring clarity to the ongoing political unrest.
Furthermore, CCLCA stressed the importance of a fair and impartial investigation. They appealed to the federal government to ensure that all necessary resources are allocated for a comprehensive probe. The group added that the results of the investigation should be made public to maintain transparency and avoid any potential cover-ups.
As the pressure continues to mount, the CCLCA has urged all relevant authorities to act without bias, ensuring that justice is served. They called for an immediate and thorough investigation to address the issues surrounding Fubara’s administration, reinforcing their belief in upholding the rule of law for the betterment of Rivers State and Nigeria as a whole.
