Rivers State House of Assembly Issues New Ultimatum to Fubara

The political crisis in Rivers State has continued unabeted as pro-Wike lawmakers have issued new ultimatums to Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC).

They are demanding that Fubara re-present the 2025 Appropriation Bill and submit a list of commissioner-nominees.

The lawmakers also threatened constitutional action against RSIEC Chairman Justice Adolphus Enebeli for conducting the October 5, 2024, local government election without legislative approval.

Meanwhile, a group of Muslim clerics warned against Fubara’s impeachment, fearing it could destabilize the state.

Fubara, however, remains confident in the people's support and reiterated his commitment to governance while inaugurating a fire service sub-station.
