RESOLUTIONS OF THE 10TH (EMERGENCY)MEETING OF THE CROSS RIVER STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL HELD ON TUESDAY, 19TH NOVEMBER, 2024 AT THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL TEMPORARY CHAMBERS,STATE COUNCIL OF CHIEFS CHAMBERS, CALABAR.

PREAMBLE:

The 10th (Emergency) Meeting of the Cross River State Executive Council for 2024 was presided over by the State Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, who stood in for His Excellency, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu, Governor of Cross River State and attended by Honourable Commissioners and other key Government officials.

In his welcome remarks, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Odey commended Members of the EXCO for their responsiveness and commitment to work, which he emphasized, is impacting positively on different sectors of the State's development in line with the People First agenda of Governor Otu.

He also charged EXCO Members to imbibe the culture of attending Government events and engagements, irrespective of whether the Governor or His Deputy is attending or not. He drew members attention to the on-going 2024 Cross River State Trade Fair holding at the Training Pitch of the U .J. ESUENE STADIUM, Calabar and the upcoming Calabar Festival Village extravaganza, among others.

The Deputy Governor hinted that the emergency State EXCO Meeting was called to take decisive actions on some critical issues that are meant to move the State forward in the overall interest of the people.

After exhaustive consideration of a number of Memos brought before Council by Members, EXCO approved and ratified the following:

1. The release of funds for the conduct of the just concluded Local Government Elections across the 18 Local Government Areas and 196 Political Wards in the State.

2. Approval of funds for the Hosting of the 2024 Calabar Festival activities across the Northern, Central and Southern Senatorial Districts of the State.
