Regina Udoette Emerges A'Ibom First Female Indigenous Police Commissioner
Regina Udoette has emerged as Akwa Ibom state's first female indigenous Commissioner of Police.
Udoette succeeds Waheed Ayilara, who died on Thursday at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, after undergoing prostate cancer surgery.
Udoette was among 15 Deputy Commissioners of Police elevated to substantive Commissioners by the Police Service Commission (PSC) on August 30, 2024.
Until her promotion, DCP Regina Udoette was Deputy Commissioner in charge of Department of Finance and Administration, Akwa Ibom State Command.

She is the first Akwa Ibom girl child to be a Commissioner of Police. This coincides with a Policeman's son, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno being the Governor of the state. She is from Ikot Ekpene by birth and Obot Akara by marriage.
She was born on 15/8/1967. Enrolled in the Nigerian Police Force in1992 as cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police. She graduated from the University of Uyo in 1989
She holds a Bs.C in communication arts from the University of Uyo. She is married to SIR Cosmas Udoette, the former NBA Chairman Ikot Ekpene
She is a devout Christian of Catholic faith. She was promoted ACP in 2020. Her promotion as CP come on her 57 birthday, and her 32nd year in service. She will be due for retirement in 2027 OR 2032 should the President approves the proposed additional 5 years.
