Redeemer's Men Fellowship Stun Destiny Youths 2-0

The Indomitable Bombers of the Redeemer's Men Fellowship, RCCG, Jesus Sanctuary, yesterday humbled the noisy Flamboyant Strikers of Destiny Youths from the same Parish by two goals to nil in a pulsating encounter decided at the State Housing Secondary School playground, Atekong Drive in Calabar.

The Bombers, led by mercurial goal poacher Hilary Ntui, took charge shortly after kick off at 10:15am, dictating the pace of the game with well tailored passes and mesmerising dribbling runs culminating in dangerous incursions into the opponent's vital area, leaving the adversaries bamboozled.

The dominance exerted by the Bombers almost paid off in the ten minutes of play when a curling ball from midfield meastro, Eyo Edet found Joshua Ammity whose lightening volley missed the net by a whisker, leaving Flamboyant Boys goal tender, Joe Ene rooted on the spot.

Dumbfounded by the scintillating soccer artistry on display from the Indomitable Bombers, Coach Nathaniel Etta was overheard yelling out instantaneous instructions from the touchline to his boys in a desperate attempt to rejuvenate his boys who appeared rattled and overwhelmed in every department of the game, despite their bragging rhetoric preceding the clash.

The opener came in the 25 minute when Eyo Edet pounced on a through ball from sensational play maker Joshua Madaki to dazzled his way into the opponent's 18 meters box before unleashing a ballistic missile which caught Joseph Ene napping to draw the first blood, after sending the duo of Maurice Victor and Usang Monday sprawling on the turf in the wake of a futile attempt to checkmate the goal bound move.

Despite pep talks from a committee of coaches during the half time interval, the Strikers failed to capitalized on their youthful exuberant to curtail the rampaging Bombers who came out smoking in the second half with renew vitality needed to silence the loquacious Boys.

A glimmer of hope for redemption sparkled from the occasional flashes produced by the quarter of Felix Nwakpa, ThankGod Daniel, Emmanuel Duke and Usang Etim who blended effectively to set up Asuquo Uwa, having exhibited great potential of a threat to Alex Enah who was between the post for the Bombers.

However, lack of clinical finishing prowess proved the greatest undoings of the Strikers as they fumbled woefully in front of the goal line rather than burying the ball in the net from the few chances they created.

The momentous dangerous forays by Uwa was sooner than later, neutralized by the RMF Bomber's resilient defensive wall marshalled by Bassey Assim, Sunny Matthais and Promise Onyedikachi working tirelessly to keep the enemies at bay.

The second dose of the humbling pie, a beauty to behold ,came in the 56 minute via an infringement following a foul on Eyo Edet mid way between the center half and the vital area.

The resultant set piece saw a curly stunner from Joshua Amitty sliding the top right corner of the net leaving Joe Ene grasping at thin air.

In a post much interview, Captain of Indomitable Bombers, Hilary Ntui described the victory as a chilling breakfast package to teach Flamboyant Strikers some hard lessons.

However, the visibly dejected Coach of the Destiny Youths team, Nathaniel Etta contended that his boys had to soft pedal on the men during the cracker as a mark of respect to guarantee their smooth passage into the rank of the Redeemer's Men Fellowship, RMF.
