PRESS RELEASE: WARNING AGAINST UNAUTHORIZED SUPPORT GROUPS IN CROSS RIVER STATE
In an era beset by the vicissitudes of unbridled ambition and the machinations of subterfuge, it is with a profound sense of duty, an unyielding commitment to the well-being of our great state, and an unwavering dedication to the principles of transparency and accountability, that we bring to the fore a matter of utmost gravity and import. The Government of Cross River State has been made aware of the emergence of certain groups, masquerading as support groups, whose activities pose a significant threat to the peace, stability, and cohesion of our polity.
These groups, unauthorized, unregistered, and unknown, have seen fit to engage in covert schemes and clandestine maneuvers, all designed to undermine the laudable policies and programs of the People First Government. It is a matter of great concern, nay, utter dismay, that these groups, driven by motives that are less than altruistic, have been working assiduously to sow seeds of discord and strife among our people, thereby threatening the very foundations of our democratic ethos.
The Government of Cross River State wishes to notify the general public, in unequivocal terms, that these groups do not enjoy the endorsement or the approval of the Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on APC Support Groups Matters, the government, the ruling party, or the people. Their activities, far from contributing to the collective development of our state, serve only to perpetuate division, strife, and retrogression, thereby undermining the concerted efforts of the government to promote the welfare and well-being of all Cross Riverians.
In light of the foregoing, the Government of Cross River State feels compelled to sound a note of warning, loud and clear, to these groups and their sponsors. Any activities deemed sabotage, anti-party, anti-government, or anti-people will attract consequences of the severest nature, in accordance with the laws of the land. Declassified intelligence reports have revealed the intentions of these groups, and their methods have been escalated to the relevant authorities for immediate action.
We urge our citizens, in the strongest possible terms, to remain vigilant and to reject the overtures of these misguided groups and individuals, whose objectives serve the interests of a select few at the expense of the majority. The public is advised to disregard attempts to sow discord against the People First Government's policies, which have been designed to promote the welfare and well-being of all Cross Riverians.
In conclusion, we call on all legitimate support groups and their members to remain focused on the tenets of democracy and to continue working towards the advancement of our state. The Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on APC Support Groups Matters welcomes genuine supporters of well-structured and registered support groups that align with Governor Bassey Otu's vision. Together, we can build a brighter future for ourselves and generations to come, a future marked by peace, prosperity, and progress.
