Presidency commends Gov Otu, Eyoanwan over women empowerment initiatives

The Presidential Project Implementation Team for the #SheIsIncluded Initiative has commended Cross River Governor Bassey Edet Otu, and the wife, Bishop Mrs Eyoanwan Itam Otu, over their endorsement of the #SheIsIncluded Initiative of the Presidency in the state.
The #SheIsIncluded Initiative of the Presidency is coordinated by the Office of the Technical Advisor to the President on financial inclusion.
Mrs Oluseye Olutimayin Adebiyi from the Project Implementation Unit,Office of the Technical Advisor to the President on Financial Inclusion, made the commendation when Dr Prince Michael Nku Abuo, the Special Adviser to the Governor, on Intervention and Grants, paid her a courtesy visit in Abuja.
Oluseye said Cross River is the only state selected for the implementation of the first phase of this initiative in the South South Region.
Her Excellency, Bishop Mrs Eyoanwan Otu, has been selected to present a keynote address at the inauguration of the event slated for January 30, 2025 at the StateHouse Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa.
Speaking, Her Excellency, Bishop Mrs Eyoanwan Otu, outlined the Governor’s multi-sectoral support for women and youth driven initiative in the state which won him the role of award of the UN #HeForShe Ambassador and the strides of the Office of the First Lady.
Some of the programmes include youth empowerment programs, maternal and child support programs, health outreaches and financial support for the the aged and vulnerable etc.
Also speaking, Dr Prince Michael Nku Abuo the Special Adviser to the Governor, Cross River on Intervention and Grants and who doubles as the State Coordinator, AUDA-NEPAD, led a delegation from the project delivery office of the initiative to the duo in Abuja.
Abuo commended Otu and the Wife for their efforts at empowering women as well as the people-oriented programmes implemented thus far, especially those aimed at empowering the women and vulnerable.
The event will be declared open by His Excellency, Kashim Shettima, the Vice President of Nigeria.
