PDP National Chairman, Damagun, Working For APC Ahead of 2027
A member of House of Representatives and prominent member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Ikenga Ugochinyere, has publicly criticised fellow party members, particularly Damagun and Anyanwu, accusing them of trying to sabotage the party’s future.
In a statement, Ugochinyere expressed frustration over what he perceives as attempts by certain individuals within the party to undermine its progress for personal gain.
Ugochinyere, who is known for his outspoken stance on party matters, argued that “it’s as if God is punishing us in the PDP by giving us characters like them. It seems like God wants to punish those He is trying to use.”
He further criticised those working within the party who, according to him, have been swayed by the All Progressives Congress (APC). “You are working for the APC; they give you land, money, and favours, only for you to come back and try to remove me. Why? Because I spoke the simple, elementary truth,” he said.
Ugochinyere emphasised that the movement he represents is not born from the internal struggles of PDP politics but from the people.
“We are not forged by the intricacies of party politics. We are a movement made by the people, built across party lines, and that’s why our victory is inevitable. It’s not about me personally; it’s about the people’s will,” he asserted.
The politician also lamented the state of leadership in Imo State, pointing out that he remains one of the few committed lawmakers representing the party.
“If you are looking for committed and effective leadership in the PDP, I am among the few left in the region. You have no other elected officer who stands as firmly for the party,” he added.
In a broader critique of party dynamics, Ugochinyere accused certain members of the PDP of only acting in ways that benefit their personal interests.
“They believe the only way to survive politically is by engaging in these schemes. For them, feeding from the party is the only way to secure their livelihood,” he concluded.
