Otu Tasks Reps Member On Quality Representation
Cross River State Governor tasks House of Representatives Member on quality representation & NECO and Common Entrance fees are paid for by former Deputy Speaker of Cross River 9th Assembly

Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River state has implored the House of Representatives Member for Akpabuyo, Bakassi and Calabar South Federal Constituency,Rt Hon Joseph Bassey to strive towards addressing the prevailing needs and aspirations of his contituents in order to justify the mandate bestowed upon him.
Senator Otu gave the task at the weekend in Akpabuyo during a formal reception organised by Rt Hon Bassey for members of the Federal Constituency to mark his official inauguration as member of the 10th National Assembly
Otu, who described the federal lawmaker as a"man of the people" said his administration is disposed to working with lawmakers at both state and federal levels irrespective of party affiliations for the common good of the state announced a donation of N5million as a personal support in respect of an educational assistance to 30 secondary schools in the constituency.
The Governor expressed dismay over the break down of law and order in Akpabuyo by rival cultists warning that further security menace would be met by the stiff arms of the law
Speaking, the House of Representatives Member, Rt Hon Joseph Bassey expressed appreciation to the people for the massive support extended to him at the polls across party divide.
According to him"the overwhelming support I got during the election reflect your trust and confidence in my ability to usher in federal government presence in our localities through projects capable of stimulating socio economic development. By God's grace,I won't let you down"'
He condemned in strong terms the recent destruction of lives and property in Akpabuyo attributed to supremacy battle between rival cult groups imploring youths in the community "to give peace a chance in order to guarantee development of the area"
The former Deputy Speaker in the Cross River 9th Assembly announced a donation of N20million for payment of NECO and Common Entrance Examination fees for indignant students selected from 30 public primary and secondary schools across the area adding that the gesture "is intended to curtail school drop out while encouraging academic excellence used as a criteria in selecting beneficiaries"
The colourful event was attended by the Deputy Governor,Rt Hon Peter Odey,House of Assembly members, stakeholders from the ruling APC as well as royal fathers.
