Okurubong Traditional Rulers Confers Chieftaincy On Benue-Born Philanthropist

The Supreme Council of Ijiman Okurubong Traditional Rulers of Ugep in Yakurr local government area of Cross River State has conferred a chieftaincy title of Obol Wofai on Benue state borne philanthropist and political guru Chief Odoje Ojatu Stephen. 

Conferring the title on him at the Apostolic Primary School field Ugep recently, the Chairman of the Okurubong Traditional  Rulers Council, HRH  Chief Arikpo Edet, said the conferment of Obol Wofai on him was based on his philanthropic gesture and love shown to Ijiman community and charged him not to relent his efforts rather he should embark on more developmental projects and empowerment of the less privilege in the Area.

The monarch, who went on the memory lane on the cordial relationship existing between Benue and Cross River states, further commended him for his good gesture specially as a lecturer in the University of Calabar and urged other both indigene and indigenes to emulate the sterling qualities of Cheif Odoje Ojatu Stephen. 

In his remark, the Chieftain of All Progress Congress and one time Special Assistant to Ayade on Solid Minerals, Chief Nelson Obono commended the Ijiman Traditional Council for the honour done to his mentor assuring that Chief Odoje Ojatu Stephen will not disappoint them rather he will build up his track record.

In his acceptance speech, Obol Wofai the (king of peace) thanked the Ijiman community in particular and entire Ugep nation for the honour done to him and his family, adding that as an Academia and politician the recognition will motivate him to do more for the sons and daughters of the Area. 

The event, which featured traditional dances, goodwill messages was witnessed by the Okurubong community and the entire Ugep nation.
