Niger Delta Minister commends UNICAL VC on Dev't

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, has commended the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Banku Obi, for ensuring that the quality of projects executed in the institution were of high standard and according to specifications.
Engr. Momoh, While on a surprise visit to the University in a bid to have an on-the-spot assessment of the state of NDDC projects, said he was satisfied with the quality of work done.
The Minister observed that : "I believe in quality jobs, quality roads, and am impressed with the work on the major road linking the University to the outside world and the adjoining roads. I am quite impressed".
He expressed delight on the Town Hall building in the institution admiring it for being big and spacious and recommended that it be replicated in the entire Niger Delta Region.
Commenting on the ongoing road construction in the institution slowed down by the heavy rainfall, the Minister urged the Managing Director of the NDDC to ensure that the roads are completed as soon as the rains stop.
While Inside the Town Hall (Cross River Community Building) of the University, Engr. Momoh assured the Vice Chancellor of continued partnership between them and pledged to continue the delivery of quality jobs.
Speaking earlier, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Obi, appreciated the Minister for the visit and the Ministry of Niger Delta Development for all the support rendered to the University.
Prof. Obi praised the ministry for the projects so far executed, describing the roads as durable, drains perfect and the size of the road commendable and exemplary.
Projects inspected include; the network of roads linking the faculty of Science to the faculty of clinical sciences, environment, as well as the faculty of Education to the Library, and the Town Hall (Cross River Community).
