By Our Reporter

Palpable tension and fear have gripped Calabar residents as the disturbing wave of insecurity rattling the ancient city took a new twist on Wednesday night.

This followed the abduction of a bolt driver along with his two female passengers by a fellow female at gunpoint
around the University of Calabar staff quarters.

The driver, identified as Jeremiah Enya was said to be with three passengers when the car was ambushed by the robbers after a call by one of his female passengers who brought out a gun and demandedthe car key.

An eye-witness said the kidnappers zoomed off with their two victims in the car they came with and abandoned the Bolt driver's car.

Meanwhile, the kidnappers who abducted the University of Calabar Director of Servicom, Prof. Patrick Egaga,  two weeks ago at his residence in the University staff quarters are demanding a total of N15m as ransom for his release after initially asking for N50m

A family source said Egaga is still in the kidnapper's den and appealed to the government to intervene to save the life of the breadwinner and father.
