Cross River State Governor, Senator  Bassey Otu has  awarded an additional one point five Kilometers to the ongoing three  Kilometers Adiabor road under construction in Odukpani LGA.

The road which now extends through Okurikang to link up with Itu bridge, will not only decongest traffic along  that axis but serve as an alternative route to  commuters plying the Odukpani - Itu road between Cross River and Akwa Ibom States.

The Adiabo - Okurikang road project  was previously awarded by His Excellency Senator Bassey Otu to Zenith Construction Company in July 2024, for three  Kilometers then including two bridges, culverts and drainages.

During an inspection visit to the construction site on Tuesday, March 2025, a  team from the Department of Projects/Programmes, Monitoring and Evaluation Governor's Office Calabar, led by the Director of Civil Engr. Francis Idagu on behalf of the Special Adviser Mr Raphael Morphy, commended the Governor for his timely interventions to deliver on projects which have actually proven commitment to his 'People's first agenda'.

Engr. Idagu expressed satisfaction at the level of work done and the  quality  materials used in executing the construction work and urged the contractor to sustain the high standard as well as ensure that the  work is completed on schedule.

"I want to thank our dear Governor, Sweet Prince,  Governor Bassey Edet Otu for his speedy interventions to deliver on projects which have actually proven commitment towards 'the Peoples' first agenda' of his administration. I also charge the contractor and workers on site to maintain the high quality of materials used and make sure they finish the job on the agreed period as unnecessary delays won't be entertained." Idagu warned.
