NDDC Unveils New Chamber of Commerce to Empower Businesses in the Niger Delta Region

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has reistated its commitment in ensuring that development is brought to the people of the region through genuine process of economic empowerment.
The managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission Chief Samuel Ogbuku made this known during a one day NDDC sensitization workshop on the establishment of the Niger Delta Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Trade, Mines and Agriculture (NDCCITMA) in Calabar.
The MD who was represented by the Cross River state NDDC Commissioner Hon. Orok Duke disclosed that the NDCCITMA is geared towards repositioning the capital and investment potentials of the region by providing the long sort support for businesses and entrepreneurs who cannot meet up the stringent conditions of commercial banks and other lending institutions.
Ogbuku assured that the activities of NDCCITMA will positively being about a robust turn around in the transport system, manufacturing, mining and agriculture.
Introducing the Niger Delta chamber of commerce, Industry, Trade, Mines and Agriculture, a consultant in the NDCCITMA Chief Solomon Edebiri said the NDCCITMA was borne out of the commissions desire to take development to the grassroot while improving businesses and economic activities in the Niger Delta Region.
He maintained that membership is open to business owners, individuals interested in business development in the oil and gas, marine, agro allied, mining, transport, power, financial businesses from individual, nano to mega scale.
On his part, the executive director of projects in the NDDC Hon. Victor Antai said NDCCITMA will serve as a bridge for the Nano and Micro businesses in the grassroot level by elevating them to stand the taste of time.
He however urged business groups in the Niger Delta Region especially startups and those who have business ideas to take advantage of this opportunity to advance their interest by seeking valuable business advice from the chamber.
The sensitisation workshop which is billed to hold in the 9 Niger Delta states has so far held in Port Harcourt, Imo, Abia, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Cross River states.
