NDDC Holds Summit on Youths Role in Sustaining Peace and Development in Niger Delta Region

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in collaboration with 360 degrees for women has organized a 3 day summit to commemorate the 2025 International Youth day celebration in Calabar.
The summit which has as its theme “The Role of Youth in the Sustenance of Peace and Development in the Niger Delta region,” is aimed at encouraging youths to embrace youthful developmental ventures that will be beneficial to them and the society socially and economically.
In a remark, the State Director of NDDC, Dr Daniel Ajunwa, represented Mrs Eme Inyang Abia enjoined participants to take the lectures seriously and Endra our to put them into practice.
The director explained that the role of youths in the development and fostering of peace in the Niger Delta Region cannot be overemphasized as the youths make up at least 60% of the population.
In his remark, a representative of 360 degrees empowerment for women Mr Onyekachi Nwamkpa, said the youths are pivotal to the development and restructuring of the Niger Delta region especially with their vast knowledge and interest in digital technology.
He disclosed that the event was an opportunity to bring youths up to speed with development in digital skills such as mobile device services and artificial intelligence to advance the United Nations Sustainable Developmental Goals (SDGs).
He enjoined participants to take advantage of their presence at the seminar to network, bridge gaps, form clusters and make informed decisions for the betterment of the Niger Delta Region.
