Pep Guardiola tutored Manchester City have replicated the famous treble feat attained by arch rival, Manchester United in 1999 after beating Inter Milan by a solitary goal to clinch their first first-ever Champions League crown.
The monumental record came after winning the English Premier League and FA Cup before completing the trophy haul with the narrow win against Inter during an epic final at Istanbul to become the second English club to garner the enviable treble spectacular triumph.
Rodri's clinical strike in the 68th minute which left Inter's goalie Andre Onana rooted on the spot finally ended City's lingering quest for European silverware thereby elevating Guardiola to the elite echelon of coaches who have won the highest crown in European club soccer competition with more than one team.
The lone goal from a curling shot by the Spanish-born defensive midfielder after pouncing on a loose ball that deflected off Darmian thereby triggering wild celebrations among City's nervous fans at the Ataturk Stadium which reverberated across the blue side of Manchester ended a nerve-wracking finale within regulation time.
