Cross River Commissioner for Information, Hon Erasmus Ekpang, has stressed the need for synergy between his office and organizations operating in the state.
Ekpang who spoke during a courtesy visit on him by members of the Government House Press Corps led by Comrade Nakanda Iyadim in office, in Calabar, Tuesday, assured that the synergy aimed at portraying the state in a bright light remains total.
"We have to manage the information, change the narratives and give the state a clean bright light in line with the philosophy of His Excellency, the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu.
"We are in a season of sweetness and the governor, Prince Bassey Otu, is a thoroughbred who even from his looks you will know that he wants the state to take a new brand.
"I therefore sue for synergy, will love to partner with you people, learn on the ropes because we are not perfect, even as I urge you never to forget that our primary objective is to rebrand the state and give it a total facelift," the Information Commissioner remarked.
He maintained that he will continuously do his best to remain proactive especially on the tasks of redeeming the image of the state while propagating the policies and programs of the present administration to the grassroots.
Earlier, Chairman of the Press Corps, Nakanda Iyadim, congratulated the state mouthpiece on his appointment and subsequent assumption of office, pledging the Corps unalloyed support to the goals and visions of the present administration in the state.
Iyadim who is also the Information Officer, Governor's office Calabar, had informed the Commissioner that he has in his team a16-man crew drawn from various media houses with the sole aim of propagating government laudable initiatives to the grassroots and the larger society.
"We are ready to work with you in propagating the 'peoples first mantra,' of the governor, while ensuring that we take the good news and outlined development so recorded in the state, to the grassroots and the larger society.
"Your appointment came through hardwork especially when one considers how you did so well as the state Publicity Secretary of the All Progressive Congress, redeeming the image of the party in the state.
"Hardwork truly pays, for it was on that string that you were appointed to this exalted ladder, and we pray God to protect and preserve you as you continuously manage properly the image of our dear state," Chairman Cross River Government House Press Corps stated.
