Lawmaker Commends Gov. Eno's Inauguration of 16km Road Project in Essien Udim, Etim Ekpo Communities

The law maker, Representing Essien Udim State Constituency and Chairman House Committee on Rules, Business, Ethics and Privileges, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Prince Ukpong Akpabio II, has commended Governor Umo Eno for inaugurating 16km road in Essien Udim and Etim Ekpo local government areas.

The road project would cut across Midim Atan Ikot Inyang-Ikot Akpan Ekpenyong-Etok Uruk Eshiet-Ikot Imonte communities.

Interacting with newsmen shortly after the flag-off by Governor Umo Eno, held at St. Paul Primary School Midim, Akpabio II expressed delight over the Governor's magnanimity and intervention in construction of rural roads in the state, adding that such interventions have numerous positive benefits to the people of the benefiting LGA's.

He noted that the road when completed will open up the communities which would enhance a whole lot of agricultural, and other economic activities in the two local government areas of Essien Udim and Etim Ekpo respectively.

He listed villages that the road project will have a direct positive impact once completed to includes, Midim Atan, Nto Udo, Ikot Ubo and Ikot Akpan in Essien Udim LGA as well as Ikot Akpan Etim Ekpo, Etok Uruk Eshiet and Utu Ikot Imonte in Etim Ekpo LGA.

According to him, the road project was a demonstration of Governor Umo Eno's practical commitment to rural development and the prosperity of the rural dwellers as enshrined in his Arise Agenda blueprint.

He observed that the gesture is not only unique and symbolic to the people of Ekpeyong Ward and Midim in particular, but has made the benefiting communities to have a sense of belonging which would eradicate the perception of marginalisation that was previously existed.

Prince Akpabio called on Essien Udim youths to always protect government infrastructure, therefore they should give the needed supports to the contractor handling the project, highlighted that apart from creating jobs, generating wealth and eradicating poverty, the road project and other numerous life torching initiatives of Governor Umo Eno will help create the enabling environment for small businesses to thrive and boast entrepreneural development.

He assured the Governor of the support and solidarity of Essien Udim people.
