Just In: Pope Francis Passes Away on Easter Monday

The supreme pontiff and visible headof the Roman Catholic Church worldwide Pope Francis the first has passed away at the age of 88.
The Vatican News reports that Pope Francis died on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025 at his residence in the Vatican's Casa Santa Marta.
A statement from the Vatican as relayed by Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Camerlengo of the Apostolic Chamber, revealed that the Holy Father passed on around 7:35 AM on Easter Monday 2025.
He said; Dearest brothers and sisters, with deep sorrow I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis. At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the house of the Father. His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and of His Church. He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with fidelity, courage, and universal love, especially in favor of the poorest and most marginalized".
Pope Francis was admitted to the Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic Hospital on Friday, February 14, 2025, after suffering a bout of bronchitis for several days and was later diagnosed of bilateral pneumonia.
The late Pope was discharged after 38 days to continue recovery at the Vatican where he later died on April 21.
Pope Francis, born Jorge Mario Bergoglio from Argentina leaves behind a remarkable legacy as a champion for peace, compassion, and the marginalized, becoming the first Latin American pope in history.
