JUST IN: Otu, Other APC Governors Storm Asaba For Obrevwori Reception as Delta APC Surrender Party Leadership to Oborevwori

The Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, and other APC governors have arrived in Asaba, the Delta State capital, for the meeting of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) and the rally to formally receive Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other PDP leaders who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). 

Oborevwori defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC last week, alongside the former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and other top PDP stalwarts in the state. 

They are billed to be received into the APC today, Monday, April 28, in a grand reception and rally in Asaba. 

Meanwhile, the foundation leaders of the APC in Delta State, led by the Minister for Aviation, Festus Keyamo, have surrendered the leadership of the party in the state to the Delta State Governor as the new leader of the APC. 

The foundation members, who visited the governor at the government house on Monday, said the coming of Governor Oborevwori to the APC is a blessing to the state and to the APC as a party, as Delta State will now be aligned with the ruling party at the center. 

"As our undisputed leader now, we wholeheartedly surrender to your leadership and ask for direction. Where you go, we go; where you don’t go, we don’t go. That is the state we are today, and there is no division in APC Delta State. 

“We hereby surrender the leadership of the party to you and also adopt the ‘MORE’ agenda of your administration, which is also in line with the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda of the Tinubu-led administration," Keyamo said. 

The APC governors will be joined in Delta State by the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, for the rally and grand reception.
