IWD: Senator Kingibe, Madein, AGF; Ogun Gov’s Wife, Adamawa Dep Gov, and 2 Fed Perm Secs lead pack of 2025 Most Influential Women in Nigeria

Ahead of the 2025 edition of the International Women’s Day, IWD, the Senator representing FCT, Senator Ireti Heebah Kingibe; the Accountant General of the Federation, Dr. Mrs. Oluwatoyin Madein; the Wife of the Ogun State Governor, Her Excellency Mrs Bamidele Abiodun; and the Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Prof. Kaletapwa George Farauta, are among the 100 women leaders that made the prestigious list of the 2025 edition of Nigeria Women Annual: 100 Leading Women.

This was announced in Abuja by the joint publishers, Gender Perspectives in Development, a gender-focused NGO; and Profiles & Biographies, Nigeria’s leading biographical compendium firm.
This annual compendium serves as Nigeria’s most qualitative compendium that profiles outstanding women across different frontiers and they include innovators, barrier-breakers, activists, top bureaucrats, captains of industry, and celebrities.
Edited by Kammonke Abam, Tammie Edet-Kammonke, and Steve Ogah, the compendium is billed to be unveiled March 8 as part of the activities to mark the International Women’s Day, IWD.
The theme of IWD 2025 is 'Accelerate Action', spotlighting the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality.
It calls for increased momentum and urgency in addressing the systemic barriers and biases that women face, both in personal and professional spheres.
Notable listees in previous editions include the Wife of the President, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; the DG, WTO, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, retired Supreme Court Judge, Justice Mary Odili, and former Cabinet Minister, Pastor Oby Ezekwesili.
In its eight year, Nigeria Women Annual: 100 Leading Women has made significant impact in sharing the inspirational stories of women leaders from different frontiers, some of whom may never have been noticed.
