Cross River State pioneer Commissioner for Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries Development has pledged commitment to dedicatedly serve the state government and Staff of his new Ministry in particular.

The Commissioner who made the commitment recently z,zZzduring his inaugural meeting with management and Staff of the Ministry in his office premises, called for cooperation and innovations to drive the people's first mandate of His Excellency Governor Bassey Otu, stressing that the new ministry requires enough tasks to structure it for efficient and effective service delivery.

Ntufam Anom informed that he will operate an open door policy where Staff can channel their concerns accordingly. 

His administration will equally improve on staff welfare in specific areas that include; promotion, incentives and befitting offices for maximum productivity. 

As the ministry is working on its blue print, Commissioner Anom who is a thorough breed in the Livestock subsector assured that he will bring his wealth of knowledge to bear, cautioned staff against poor attitude to work, noting that erring staff will equally be sanctioned.

Among reactions by Staff, Director Veterinary Services, Dr Patrick Obi appreciated the Commissioner for his commitment so far, appealed for considerations on issues of personnel, promotions, office structures and furniture.

He encouraged Staff to respect protocols of the Ministry and explore the right channels of communication in the ministry.

Similarly, the Director Fisheries, who is also the State Project Coordinator of IFAD-LIFE-ND, Mr. Innocent Ogbin expressed hope that the expected structuring of the ministry will open up other units that will draw down laudable projects from the Federal Government to Cross River State.

He called for urgent deployment of critical staff to meet the administrative needs of the Ministry.

Admonishing other staff not to despair with the present state of the ministry, Ogbin concluded that " necessity is the mother of invention. It is time for us to put on our thinking cap and be innovative."

The Staff who were visibly happy unanimously agreed to work with Commissioner Anom as sheep to a Shepherd.
