Plateau State's Lisha Dachor, a 19-year-old Nigerian nail artist, has successfully concluded her bid to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest nail painting marathon by an individual.

During the "nail-a-thon" event held at Odilin’s Event Centre in Jos, Plateau State capital, Dachor painted over 4,000 artificial nails within 72 hours. She took to her Facebook page to express her gratitude, stating, “Breaking barriers and setting records! Honoured to have set a new milestone in the world of nail art with the longest marathon painting of artificial nails by an individual. Grateful for the journey and the incredible support.”

The initiative, which ran from April 28 to May 1, also offered free transportation to and from the venue for attendees.

In an interview,Dachor shared her motivation behind the challenge, aiming to showcase the positive aspects of Plateau State and challenge stereotypes, particularly about teen mothers like herself. She emphasized, “I want to give people hope, especially single mothers, because many people don’t think we have anything to offer.”

Awaiting the official review by Guinness World Records, Dachor's record-breaking attempt has garnered praise and celebration, notably from Plateau State Governor Caleb Muftwang. He commended her "record-breaking spirit" and highlighted how her determination aligns with the administration’s youth-focused policy objectives.

This achievement follows recent record-breaking feats by other Nigerians, including chess master Tunde Onakoya, who set a new Guinness World Record for the longest marathon chess, and social media entrepreneur Clara Kronborg, who achieved the longest interview record.

These successes reflect Nigeria’s growing presence in global record-breaking endeavors.
