The Special Adviser on Asset Management and Recovery to Governor Bassey Edet Otu of Cross River state, Barr Gilbert Agbor, has called for collaboration with security agencies.

Agbor, who made that call when he paid a courtesy visit to the state's Commissioner of Police, C.P Gyagon Augustine Grimah, at the weekend, said his office has enormous task ahead and would not function effectively without partnering with the police authourities.

He said: "The visit is to strengthen ties and seek effective collaboration between his office and law enforcement authorities.

"Besides, the meeting is aimed to addressing various key issues regarding the management and recovery of government assets within and outside the state."

Agbor said there is need for both his office and the police officials to establish communication channels and joint initiatives to identify and track assets obtained through illegal means.

The Adviser stated that the Governor is committed to recovering all illegally carted away assets by employing due processes and transparency.

At the meeting, Agbor and the Police Commissioner agreed to explore ways to streamline processes, including the use of technology to track and recover assets more effectively.

They also agreed to form a special task force to tackle high-profile cases was also considered.

Commissioner of Police, C.P Gyagon Augustine Grimah, expressed optimism that these collaborative efforts would contribute to a significant reduction in embezzlement and mismanagement of government assets.
