A new political group known as the Cross River Mainstream Organisation which comprises very high profile politicians and stakeholders  across the state was officially inaugurated today in Calabar to spearhead the second term bid for Governor Bassey Edet Otu.

The organisation described as a gathering of "very sophisticated politicians" brings together members of the State Assembly, the executive, and influential figures across the 18 local government areas of Cross River State to propel synergy towards the governor's second term bid.

At the inauguration, Hon Kingsley Ntui was appointed as Chairman of the group, Hon Cyril James Omini was appointed as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Hon Dr Martins Achadu serves  as Director of Media and Publicity.

During the inauguration, the Chairman, Hon Ntui charged members to mobilise grassroots support down to the polling unit level with the goal of securing at least 95% victory for Governor Otu in the 2027 gubernatorial election.

According to the group, the formation of the organisation is aimed at  consolidating the achievements of Governor Otu which include the revamping of the Obudu Cattle Ranch, renovation of the State Library Complex, upgrade of the Governor’s Office and extensive road construction across the state among other great initiatives.

The inauguration of a frontline team  marks the beginning of strategic political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 election which governor Otu has been overwhelmingly endorsed across the state to continue in delivering the people's first mandate.
