EFCC Arrests 14 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Uyo 

Operatives of the Uyo Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have apprehended 14 suspected internet fraudsters in various locations within Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. 

The arrests were made on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in Ikot Akpanabia, Udoudoma, and Nwaniba areas of Uyo, following an intelligence-driven sting operation. 

Three of the arrested suspects are undergraduate students of the University of Uyo. 

Recovered items from the suspects include 26 smartphones, one iPad, three laptops, one wristwatch, and a black Toyota Camry car. 

The suspects will be arraigned in court once investigations are concluded.
