Gov Otu Assures Obubra Nation Of Commitment To Support Growth

The Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Bassey Edet Otu has assured the people of Obubra that deliberate steps will be taken by his administration to put back Obubra on the development lane.
Governor Bassey Otu gave the assurance recently when a delegation of APC leaders of Obubra Nation paid him a courtesy call in his country home in Calabar, the state capital.
While sympathizing with the people over the death of Late Chief John Okpa and the consequent neglect of the people of Obubra by previous administrations, the Governor reassured the Leadership of Obubra APC led by Chief Mark Nomba Ayo that his administration will leave no effort to bring back Obubra into the social, economic and political orbit of the State.
He admonished the Leadership to remain selfless in their service to their people stressing the importance of always protecting and projecting interest of their people for urgent government attention.
He assured that his People First Mantra will not elude the Obubra people and reiterated his plans to establish the College of Agriculture and Forestry which will serve as a beacon of hope for Obubra promising that the College will enter the world map of afforestation and agricultural development. Earlier, the Leader of the delegation, Chief Mark Nomba Ayo thanked the governor for the appointment of choice Obubra sons and daughters into his Cabinet and boards and for the establishment of the state College of Agriculture and Forestry ,Ovonum.
Also speaking, Dr Elucate Ekom decried the seeming political control and deliberate imposition of weak choices of people into high elective offices in Obubra by political leaders from sister Local government areas as a way to perpetuate their control over Obubra as an underdog.
Dr Elucate appealed to the Governor to stem the tide of such dominance which has kept Obubra down from Development for decades While making his remarks, Dr Kyrian Mfam, former Chairman of Obubra Local Government Council praised governor Otu for the speedy work of reconstruction which the state has witnessed within just a few months in Office.
Dr Fidelis Obo and Bishop Castro Adoga Ezama in their separate speeches thanked the Governor for his wonderful candour and political will to carry Obubra along in his development agenda for the state while assuring him of the preparedness of Obubra people to give their utmost solidarity and support to the new Administration as always.
