Food Security: Senator Eteng Williams Distributes Free Fertilizers To Over 3000 Farmers

Consistent with both federal and state governments bids to boost agricultural productivity and achieve food security, Senator Eteng Jonah Williams, representing Cross River Central Senatorial District in the 10th Nigerian Senate, has distributed free fertilizers to rural farmers across the 66 wards of the district.
The lawmaker stated that the distribution, facilitated through APC chapter chairmen of the district, is done transparently across the central parts of the state. He maintained that the initiative is part of his commitment to supporting farmers to boost their yield, which he quipped, wii go a long way to addressing the current food shortage in the country.
Senator Williams urged beneficiaries to utilize the fertilizers for the intended purpose, rather than selling them. "This gesture is expected to significantly boost harvests and cushion the effects of food scarcity," he remarked.
So far, one trailer load of NPK fertilizers has been distributed, with an additional trailer load of Urea Fertilizers awaiting distribution. This effort is set to benefit at least 3000 rural farmers, contributing to the attainment of food security in Nigeria.
Senator Williams' dedication to empowering farmers and enhancing food production is a testament to his commitment to the welfare of his constituents and the nation at large.
