Executive Director SBHS, Commends Gov Otu For Payment Of WAEC Fees ....Calls For Similar Gesture To Private Schools.

The recent payment of WAEC fees of over N440,127,000 for about 16,301 by governor Bassey Otu of Cross River for indigenous pupils in public Schools have continued to attract commendation from the publics.

This time the Executive Director of Southern British High Sch, Calabar, Dr (Mrs) Oluwaseun Fakorede said Governor Otu's step is not only welcoming but proper giving the current harsh economic realities faced by Nigerians

Dr Fakorede described the gesture as an act of kindness that can only done by a man who has the interest of his people at heart.

She called on the governor to consider the expansion of the magnanimity to private schools as well since "we are operating under similar conditions".

The Executive Director noted the innovations The prince Otu led administration has brought to bear in the state acknowledging that particularly the security issues that have gradually become a thing of the past.

Mrs Fakorede who also observed that the peace that is the state today has created a conducive environment for investments to thrive commended the governor for making security of lives and property a priority.

She lauded Governor Otu for the rehabilitation of road network and street lighting stating that these efforts certainly will reflect in the general outlook of the city of Calabar and in making the state a destination for business and liesure.

While calling on the governor to sustain these strides recorded within seven months in office, the Director called on Cross Riverians to be appreciative of these feats by their support to all government developmental programmes.

 The Management of the School called on Residents of Cross River state to appreciate and support the unequal efforts of the governor in transforming the state into the jewel of Southern Nigeria for the benefit of all.
