The Wife of the Former President of Nigeria Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan, is facing allegations of unlawful detention of fifteen of her domestic staff incarcerated since 2019.

Names of some  accused persons given as, Vincent Olabiyi,  Ebuka Cosmos, John Dashe, among others, have remained in prison for over five years without any concrete proof against them.

They were  reportedly being detained at the Okaka Correctional Centre in Bayelsa State without a court conviction, as their trial has been consistently stalled.

They were allegedly accused  on account of armed  robbery, malicious damage, attempted murder and stealing with deliberate, continuous delayed trial on the instructions of the former First Lady.

Beagle news gathered that the current judge handling the case has been very slow to act, allegedly under the influence of Mrs. Jonathan.

Our source further revealed that the workers were accused of stealing jewelry from one of the ex-First Lady’s apartments in Otuoke,

The situation has sparked public outcry, with calls for justice and proper legal proceedings to ensure fair treatment for the detained staff.
