EARCOM Boss Harps On Greater Akwa Ibom

The Executive Chairman of Akwa Ibom Ethical and Attitudinal Reorientation Commission, EARCOM, Dr Dorothy Thompson has asserted that the ultimate goal of the Agency is to drive the process that will lead to the evolution of a greater Akwa Ibom that live up to her full potentialities.
Dr. Thompson, who made this submission as a guest on the Radio programme, All Eyes on Arise, monitored on Atlantic 104.5 FM, Uyo, on Tuesday, revealed that EARCOM is wholly committed towards mass advocacy, sensitisation and propagation of the recently launched ARISE Agenda, conceived to orientate the Akwa Ibom child towards achieving his or her full potentials in life.
She disclosed that her office is deploying local, conventional and new media channels to make the citizens internalise the vision in a bid to attain set goal.
Dr Thompson, answering questions from her host, Itoro Columba, used the opportunity to intimidate the citizenry that EARCOM will continue to partner religious bodies, traditional institutions, civil society groups, non governmental organisations and other Government MDAs in driving the message and mission of the ARISE Agenda to logical conclusion.
The EARCOM boss lauded Governor Umo Eno for initiating the ARISE Agenda vision, harping that his bipartisan approach to governance, responsiveness, consensus building, accessibility, capacity to listen, people-centric disposition and proactive disposition are indicative of good governance strategies which the people are yearning for.
The EARCOM boss however admonished the citizens to flee from toxic people who thrive on fake news, rumour mongering, blackmail, cyber bullying and propaganda in the name of being critics or playing opposition, stressing that, spreading misinformation and smear campaigns never add anything good to the society.
Dr. Thompson called for the formation of ARISE Agenda Ambassadors and volunteers who can help the mass mobilisation drive to integrate the grassroots in the scheme of things so they can benefit from the imminent vast opportunities that will come as Governor Eno executes his development plans for the State.
