Cross River: Succour As Sen Jarigbe Facilitates 8 Solar Powered Boreholes To Bekwarra Communities

Committed to ameliorating the plight of the constituents, Sen. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, representing the Northern senatorial district, has facilitated the construction of 8 solar- boreholes to Bekwarra communities. During electioneering, Jarig be and promised to look into the acute water scarcity in Bekwarra local government area.
Recall that one of the traditional rulers in one of the communities had cried out for help when the PDP visited his domain, saying they drink from the same stream with cows.
The facilitation of the boreholes is seen as a significant step towards addressing the perennial water scarcity challenges in Bekwarra local government. The benefitting communities include Market Square- Gakem Ward, Catholic Church Beten - Beten Ward, Itekpa- Abuochiche Ward and Abuagbo Iye-Nyanya Ward. Others include Ibiaragidi Iye- Ibiaragidi Ward, Ububa Ukum- Ugboro Ward, Afrike Road-Ukpah Ward and Ibadan- Ochagbe Ward.
These communities have had been faced with lack of portable drinking water for over decades. Mobilising contractors to sites Jarigbe noted that the rural water project is basically to fulfill the basic needs of the people.
According to him, the project will also ensure rights of access to safe domestic water, good health and other basic amenities by the affected communities.
"With access to clean water, these communities can now focus on agriculture, education, and economic development, ultimately improving their living standards.
"The communities will also overcome diseases associated with lack of access to clean water which includes cholera, diarrhea, dysentery, typhoid fever and many others", he noted.
