Cross River PDP  condoles Prof. Effah-Attoe’s family

The Cross River State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condoled with the family of  Effah-Attoe’s over the death of their daughter, Prof. Stella Effa-Attoe.

Professor Stella Attoe, until her death was the National Women Leader and member of the National Working Committee and National Executive Committees of the party. 

In a statement signed by State Chairman of PDP,  Venatius A. Ikem, Esq, the party describes her death as an 'irreparable loss" to the entire nation, especially coming at a time we are yearning for quality leadership across board.

According to the statement, Prof. Attoe during her lifetime made tremendous contributions to the growth and development of Cross River State and Nigeria at large by serving also as one time commissioner for education and member of the Cross River State Executive Council. 

The statement read in part: "Yesterday, we received with shock the passing into Glory of our illustrious leader.

"She had a remarkable career as an academic rising to become Dean of the Faculty of Arts in the University of Calabar, from where she was elected to serve in the PDP’s 
National executive committee. 

"At the university, where she held several academic leadership positions, she also was an author of several scholarly publications: books and Articles widely published in National and International Journals. 

"Professor Stella Attoe was an astute politician, a founding member of the Peoples 
Democratic Party, who devoted the last over twenty years of her life in the service of 
her Party. Since year 2000 she served as a member of the PDP Board of Trustees.

"As a devout Christian and devoted wife and mother, we are consoled by the fact that 
she passed on in the warm embrace of her close family members. She will be sorely missed by her teeming supporters and loving family.

"On behalf of the State Executive Committee of The Peoples Democratic Party, I hereby  extend our deepest condolences to the those she left behind."

The party prayed the "Almighty God to grant her soul peace profound and her family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss."
